So in Trinidad we have a lot of traditional, nature based sweets and snacks from the good old days. In my mum and dad's time we didn't import too many things so when the old folk went to school, they'd buy their snacks from elders who'd make the sweets in their kitchens using fruits that were in season or available. This was so much fun to research. Most of the sweets I already knew about like tamarind (tambran) balls, paw paw balls and sugarcake. Then my mum tells me of halé and shaddock - toffee and a sweet made from the outer rind of the pink grapefruit. I made a list of at least 10 sweets and I've just posted 3. My goal is to finish ever
